THANK YOU! Everyone who came out, worked at and donated to the Tony Martin Benefit.  It was a GREAT day and made a huge impact on Tony.  In addition to the emotional support for Tony, we raised almost $18,000 to help with on-going expenses.

A large thank you to the former members of the Vanguards who all came back for the event and met with Tony the day before.  It was the first time in 43 years that they were all together again!!  Re-engineered CDs of their original 1966 recordings are still available with proceeds going to Tony.  See the link above.

Thank you again to everyone who made the benefit such a success.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tony Martin of Walnut, Illinois and his wife Mindy were hit by an uninsured driver who ran a stop sign on Sept. 3, 2010.  As a result, Tony has spinal injuries that are still being diagnosed.  At this point, it doesn't look promising.
Tony has sung for many area bands over the last forty years including Olde News and the Rum and Chowder band.  He is a Viet Nam veteran.  He has always been one of the first to step up to help those in need, fellow vets and his community.
We do not know where January will find Tony, but we know he will be in need of financial and moral support.
We will have an all day blues jam and fund raiser.  We will need volunteers for various tasks.  We will need donations of time and money or if you have items of value that can be auctioned to raise money.
If you are a musician:
Please help by donating time and/or equipment for one of your own.
If you know (or are) a celebrity:
See if they would donate a signed item (t-shirt, picture, posters, piece of sheet music), event tickets or anything that could be raffled to make money.
If you own a business:
            Donate an item or service to be auctioned or raffled.
Most importantly, we will need your presence to show Tony how much he has meant to us over the last forty plus years.
PLEASE set this date aside for this important event.
Times, activities and artists will be posted as they are determined.
